Looking Ahead

This is still a work in progress, but since we're in the process of buying our Texas home, I figure we have squatter's rights at saying we live in the south. Making house payments should count for something surely!

I'll be back to use this space for sharing the ups and downs of our transitioning from being Yankees to becoming Southerners. Lucky for us you won't be able to hear our voices. Any drawl I had flew the coop a long time ago. Stay tuned, I'll be back soon.

When I couldn't get Life of Grits to come up by clicking on it on your email, I tried typing the htt:// of it out on the line for whatever you're searching for.

Can't wait till I can be there with you and DH, and again enjoy fried catfish and hushpuppies, and enough fried okra to overdose on, and see if you have pecan or walnut trees in your yard, or figs, or Mayhaws in spring. It all sounds so heavenly it's almost religious. Makes you wonder why anyone moves North. But I must hurry now to see how much air fare is.

Don't worry. That drawl will worm it's way into your speech before you can blink an eye. The south has a way of putting it's stamp on you. ;-)

How funny you're getting comments on your new blog when no one even knows about it yet. :-)

I'm assuming the photo in your header is one you took of your new view. Am I right?

One thing I know for sure is that you only have to be around people with southern accents for about an hour and you just slip right back into it. I'll bet you anything, a year after you move there, you'll sound like you never left Texas in the first place. What I can't wait to hear is DON with a southern twang. LOL
