Friday's Fave Five

Susanne, over at Living to Tell the Story, has started this great weekly post. Five favorite things about this past week?

#1 Beautiful fall weather, only one day of rain which we really needed. We hit 70 degrees most days.

#2 Leaves on display. Fall is hands-down my favorite season and the leaves this year are gorgeous. My grandson, Landon, just yesterday saw a pile of yellow and red leaves underneath the tree at the end of his driveway, and instinctively asked, "Mama, pway leaves? Mama, pway leaves? Mama, pway leaves pweeze?" Somehow little kids just know this time of year leaves are made to run through and throw in the air.

#3 We caught up on the episodes of Survivor, the first TV show I ever started following, seven years ago. Lucky for me I missed the year with Richard Hatch, sans clothing, but I've caught everyone since then. Watching Survivor makes me so thankful to be at home, in my pjs, curled up on my sofa with my knitting while they're all out there, getting eaten alive by insects and arguing like nobody's business.

#4 Pumpkin pie and Caramel apple creamer are both back in the store, and I started my morning coffee with one or the other every single day this week.

#5 Favorite quote of the week from my readings: "Say what you mean without being mean" from Wife After God's Own Heart, Elisabeth George. Something that will stick with me, and hopefully be reflected in my words.

To join in on Friday Fave Five, you can go to Susanne's place here.

Love the quote. I'm a survivor fan even though I did watch the Richard Hatch year LOL! I really love fall and am still waiting for it to appear in southern California :0)
Have a great week....

I'm so glad you played. I love reading these!

I've already written that wonderful quote down after I read your last post.

I love, love, love fall. My favorite time. Landon is so sweet. I'd be right in the leaves with him. And I'm with you on the survivor thing. I'm thankful to be home watching instead of there. LOL.

I used to watch Survivor all the time - but I haven't seen it in a while. I did see the Richard Hatch year - it was good even though he was weird!

Lately I am into The Amazing Race.

Fall has come to the Northwest too - it's so chilly here. I've had my fireplace going every evening.

I'll bet you anything, the reason you and I both love autumn so much is because we have memories of Daddy raking up tons of leaves and then letting us kids run and jump in them and pretty much scatter them all over heck. And then, of course, he burned them and I know you remember that wonderful smell too.

I love your list. A lot. xoxoxo

I e-mailed that quote to myself the other day when I read it. Great words to live by, indeed!

You really shouldn't have told me about those flavored creamers. I keep trying to psyche myself into beginning a diet, but I just can't bear the thought of drinking my coffee black, ESPECIALLY not now that I know what goodies are available out there! ;-)

Love your new blog, and the Fave Five is a great idea! By Friday, sometimes it takes some effort to come up with a "Fave", y'know?

Oooh - love the flavored creamers during fall and christmas time! Will certainly look for them in our commissary next week. Thanks for the reminder!

PS - Love the new blog. Since I am a southern girl too (currently pretending to fit in Southern CA) I can relate! : )

Great quote. I shall remember it and try to put it in to effect in my own life.

Landon's on the right track! Leaves and grandsons, a perfect combination!

I was just visiting my grandma in Iowa last weekend, thus getting to to see autumn both in the Midwest and in Seattle. Luuurrrve it. Just lurve.

Great quote. And, may we all remember to play just a little bit every single day--fall or not.
