Moving Day

Well, not exactly. We're still physically in Pennsylvania, but I've gone ahead and moved over here, at least blog-wise. I'm too busy right now, trying to care for two homes, to have time for two blogs. Scratchin' the Surface was just about full - with 500 posts - so I put her out to pasture.

I'm not quite sure what 'tone' this one will take. I have a tendency to be all over the place, sometimes busy with sewing, or quilting, or knitting, or scrapbooking, or cleaning out flowerbeds, or bragging on kids and grandkids, so we'll see. Right now I'm feeling nudged to support DH more than normal. He's still trying to support us, get ready to retire in spite of Wall Street going crazy, so I've taken on the challenge from the movie, "Fireproof", doing the Love Dare for forty days. I made it through day one - nothing negative spoken; day two - act of kindness (ironed shirts and painted the garage floor!); day three - a gift (a tree for his office); today - call him once to see how he's doing. No matter how long you've been married, showing extra love for your spouse has to be a good thing.

I'm also reading "A Wife After God's Own Heart" by Elisabeth George. Good grief, do I still have a lot to learn?!

Back with more later.

Bev - I have been a "lurker" of your blog for a while and I really enjoy reading your thoughts. I was so disappointed when I went to SCratching the Surface and you were gone - and so glad to see you were here! I don't have a blog but would love to keep in touch with you. My email is barfield6056@gmail.com.

This blog is a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e.

And, I love that you are tending your good marriage and making it better.

Sounds like I need to buy 2 books...

I love the new look here, Bev! You know, I checked out Fireproof, and can you believe that it is not scheduled for release outside the US??????? Even though there are articles in the papers here about its phenomenal success over the opening weekend! I am not happy. I want to go and see it too! Sigh. I will have to wait for the DVD and then go and get a multi-regional player to watch. One day!

I love everything Elizabeth George writes, and her books are dog eared and well highlighted on my bookshelves. Sounds like the 40 day challenge is one that would be good for every marriage- I need to check that out!

Welcome to your new home, by the way! Love what you've done with the place:-)

Well I think if you are working on your marriage and reading Elizabeth George, you can't go wrong Bev. Welcome back to Texas. If you are ever near Corpus, give me a call. Looking forward to seeing where this blog goes!

What a pretty place you have over here. I hadn't heard of the movie Fireproof, but that 40 day challenge makes it sound very appealing.

I love your new look here, Bev!

I've not yet seen Fireproof (small town and isn't showing here yet), but I've seen the trailer and am anxious to see the movie.
