Sabbath Resting

Week 3 - We slept til we woke up (albeit to the sound of animals asking to be let out.) Finished off an entire pot of coffee and the rest of the loaf of banana bread, over the morning paper.

Attended an open house with our kids - We can see them in this one! The sound of football in the background for most of the day, catnaps in the recliner and on the sofa, taking both of the dogs for a walk around the neighborhood (one at a time) - it was fun to see them checking out the white flakes on their snouts. Baked a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies, and snacked on a few of them, fresh from the oven, with a good book.

A bit of time in the afternoon redoing my daily prayer cards. DH has a much better system for being faithful to those he's committed to pray for, so I'll copy his :-)

A quiet evening of dinner, then talking over our upcoming trip south, later this week, with a few last minute schedule changes. We'll leave a day early, to break up the drive and feel more human when we finally arrive, 1300 miles later.

Pajamas on soon after it turned dark, and finally I tucked myself in for the night with a cup of cocoa and one more cookie. All of this while tiny snowflakes float through the air, just enough to make the day look and feel like a Hallmark commercial. Pretty close to perfection!

Again ... I feel relaxed just reading this post. Thank you. And if I don't talk to you before, have a wonderful time with your family in Texas.

I'm with Becky...relaxed. Sounds pretty perfect to me. Blessings on you and yours as you prepare your heart and load up your car for the trip down South. Hugs!

And...daily prayer cards? Want to hear more when you have time.

You have to break up a 1300 mile drive. Even 650 miles a day is a LONG day. I'm glad you're doing it this way.

Your Sundays sound so nice. I'd love to do that - just take the day off, but it's one of only two days a week I have no children here, so I sew like a crazy person on Sundays.

So my next batch of cookies will be oatmeal raisin - they sound wonderful and they're the very best for dipping in coffee!

That does indeed sound like a perfect day. Enjoy the snow while you can, 'cause once you move down here, your glimpses of it will be few and far between.

My kids are insanely jealous about your snow. Caiden and Grayson pray over every meal that God will make it snow. Maybe you could bring a little snow with you, when you come next week??

1300 miles is more than I can fathom ever driving! Breaking it up makes sense. Have a great trip and a wonderful holiday.

Somehow there is no spot to comment on your posts. Did you turn them off?
I wanted to wish you a blessed Advent and Christmas with your family. I hope you also had a great Thanksgiving!
