I was lying in bed last night, unable to shake off the remnants of a decongestant I'd taken for the lovely germs I brought back from Texas - and started thinking of all the cookies I want to bake.
There's each of the kids' favorites - Sandies for Sarah; Wreaths for Leslie; Frosted Sugar Cookies for Dan - HAVE to make them. Jeremy loves those cookies with the chocolate kiss in the middle, and I love, love pecan cups. Last year Ingrid had coconut macaroons that are a snap to make and better to eat, and then I thought I'd make some almond biscotti to put in cute little bags and give to girlfriends as a gift. Biscotti is sooooooo easy to make, and always a nice gift, especially if you take some melted cake frosting and drizzle it all over them - chocolate and white - very pretty and very yummy!
And you have to add at least one new recipe every year - Scottish Empire Biscuits, and how about Kit Kat Bars and Chocolate Raspberry Crumb Bars? I haven't sent cookies trays to work with DH for years, so By Jove this year I'll do just that! What office is complete without abounding calories every day during December?
Landon was going to come and play with me this morning, his nose is a bit green but then mine isn't that great either. Unfortunately his mommy woke up feeling rotten this morning, so our playdate is off. It's a perfect day for baking up a storm, which means I better start something yummy in the crockpot - not that cookies and milk would be such a bad dinner...

I am glad you are back, your comments are back on, and you seem to be ready to hit the ground running despite your virus.
Don't breathe on the cookies :)
Have a cozy baking day, Bev.
This is our baking week, I think! The Baby and I have to go ingredient-shopping this afternoon.
xo
Cookies and milk all the way, babe. Why mess up your kitchen with real food if you don't have to?
I'm starting my baking with the specialty breads. Soon as I have several of those in the freezer, to pull out when my house is bursting at the seams the week before Christmas, I'm moving on to divinity and cookies.
If I didn't make divinity, I think my family would revolt!
I just read Gretchen's comment. LOL
I'm doing baking this evening too! And guess what it is. Chocolate Biscotti that I'll be giving with a bottle of flavored coffee syrups as our gifts this year for friends.
ummmm, must have kit kat bar cookie recipe NOW. (I have a little addiction to kit kat bars)
Pretty please????!!!! :-)
I wish you'd share your biscotti recipe. I've never made any, and would like to give it as gifts to neighbors this Christmas.
My heavy baking week starts Monday...it is supposed to be really yucky that day and I have no where to go...bring on the oven....
