Slow Down, You Move Too Fast...

We're spending this Sunday, the first one with no football for approximately five months, not watching football!

A bit of sleeping in, then blueberry waffles and bacon, with the blueberries I picked back in June.

Possibly spend the afternoon taking in a movie while consuming mass quantities of artery-clogging popcorn, then back home for dig-ups (no cooking supper!) and curling up with books. I'm reading Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, a story of two girls in China, who suffer through foot binding, grow up separated but joined together by a secret language they share, displayed on a fan. I expect it to be a slow, beautiful read.

Monday will bring bursts of activity - my buddy, Landon will be with me while his mama is at MOPS, there's painting to be done, laundry, bills, meal planning, but for the weekend and especially one day, we're going to S.L.O.W. D.O.W.N. to a crawl.

Hope your Sunday is cozy and calm too.

That does sound cozy! Let us know how the book goes. I am always looking for a new read.

Your Sunday sounds perfectly relaxing. Good for you, slowing down today. I plan to do the same thing.

I'm keeping my eyes open for that book. :-)

I'm glad to see you will be having a restful Sabbath. It sounds perfect. A bit of football "withdrawal" around here too, but our daugher is coming for a visit. That's always better than football.

You will not be disappointed in that book. Despite the horror of the binding (worse that I ever imagined, esp with the pictures our book club found online), it is a wonderful and precious story.

Reminds me of the 57th Street/Feelin' Groovy song by Simon and Garfunkel. :)

I lurved that book, BTW. You described it perfectly. It's like a slow, delicious meal. You're not too full afterward, but feel very satisfied.

As I write this, you're probably feeding that little cutie lunch or putting him down for a nap. So sweet to have time with grammy.
