Overcoming Trust Issues

A closet for hanging jackets would be nice. So would a couple more cupboards for the dishes. I could live with a better venting system for the dryer. The one we have now fogs all the windows in the place making it resemble the parking lot of a drive in theater, and I'm thinking the neighbors might be wondering what on earth is going on over here!

I could go with a bit more insulation -We can already tell it's going to be drafty here this winter. Our vehicle doesn't fit in the garage unless we stop and fold in the mirrors, so the garage has become our 'basement storage'.

So the place is less than perfect, but I can live with all of the before mentioned issues.

But I really miss having birds feeding on the deck.
When I was in Colorado visiting my sister, Barb, I noticed she had one of these.
As we sat at her kitchen table drinking coffee the sweet little birds would come right to the window and eat away. Actually they had a waiting line, with some being not so good at waiting their turns. They'd fly up in a huff of feathers and rush the other one off. Obviously they did not pass 'learn to wait your turn' in kindergarten!

When I got home I went to the bird store and bought one for our deck window. It's been a good month, and they've just begun to acknowledge the feeder is there, full, waiting for them to dive in. It took three weeks of sprinkling seed on the floor of the deck, for them to get used to us at all. Apparently our sparrows have trust issues.
Guys, I only have five months left here - you better muster some courage before I pull the plug and it's all gone.

Oh Bev, I think you wrote this one just for me. I really seem to need to have visuals too and when God speaks a lesson to me through nature it seems to really stick so much better.

I would really love a bird feeder, I love birds. But my silly cat won't allow it. She thinks they are there for sport.

What a great comparison...so hard to 'let go and let God' much of the time. Thanks and enjoy the birds. Like Susanne, we have cats so our bird feeder is up high and away from the house. The cats can 'window shop' but have no idea how to 'buy' and the birds love taunting them.

Wow!! You really know how to bring home the lessons that I need to hear (read)! I am struggling with "trusting" for ALL THINGS right now...thanks for the reminder!

That is great. I would miss our birds too. We have three feeders in the edge of the wood in our backyard.

I used to have one of these very feeders on the window of my reading corner at school. My 3rd graders loved it and the birds kept them fully entertained.

Beautiful analogy, Bev.

“He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love!”
(Song of Solomon 2:4)

There is nothing lacking at the banquet table, and all details are tended to with grace and perfection.

The love is the icing on the cake ~ for He withholds no good thing to those He loves.

Blessings,

Becky

P.S. I am going to get one of those birdfeeders ~ my windows are so high, I've been trying to figure out something. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Wow, Bev. What a beautiful analogy.

As always, beautifully written.

I love your little feeder. It's fun, isn't it?

Reads like a page from a wonderful book of devotionals, Bev. Thanks for the reminder. Enjoy your last 5 months with your fam, friends, and feathered friends in PA.
