Keeping score of old scores and scars, getting even and one-upping, always makes you less than you are. Malcolm Forbes
Hmmmm.... what have I been 'keeping score' of, what past hurts do I need to set down and leave behind? This pesky pride of mine, it takes on many disguises, sometimes even that 'holier-than-thou' attitude of how much something has hurt me. Since today I have to live out my life this side of the Rapture, then I'm stuck spending time with a bunch of sinful humans, who happen to be stuck with the same in me. Best to get over it and move on rather than holding on to those measley offenses that come from rubbing shoulders with humanity.
But it feels so good to hold onto something, go over and over it in my mind - whatever it is that has slighted me, or offended me, or hurt me! I sort of like that mighty feeling of being the one left on the battlefield, there's such valor in that, rather than being the one riding away with the sword in my hand.
How's that for something to 'pay forward'? Forgive others, hoping they'll do the same to someone else, and on it goes.....

I am working on that everyday, and failing miserably, I might add. It is a good lesson. Have you read The Shack? I am sure you have.
Would you move your pride out of the gutter, so mine can slide by? :) Oy, this one is sooo hard. Because, you know, I'm practically perfect and all.
Thank you for this, my friend. xxxoogretchen
From the title, to the "riding away with the sword in my hand", this is the writing I've always known is in you. Keep other ones you've already written, and more that will pour from your pen, and you will have something precious to share with souls who need to read them. Now, let me see, how should you title it......
I found a little quote that is so helpful, I wrote it out and taped it below my computer screen. It says" "What one remembers from the past colors what one sees in the present."
