Update on my Mom

Thank you, to all of you who prayed for my mom today, and as icing on the cake, those who went to her blog and left her a comment to say hello.

I just got off the phone with her - she sounds a bit groggy, but better than I was expecting. She said they did a partial - not full - knee replacement. That she'd been nauseated all afternoon but that was better, there's some pain but it's manageable.

She sounded in good spirits, and I'm convinced it's because she's been receiving phone calls, her son has been there much of the day, and her best friend has spent the entire day with her, caring for her practical needs. I'm so thankful she's been in good hands.

At this rate, she should be back home and posting away in no time! She told me this doctor has a nice bedside manner, and isn't that always important. I'll sleep much better tonight, knowing she's okay and in good spirits.

That is good news, Bev. I'm sure it's hard not being able to be there to check on her yourself. I pray she has a speedy recovery.

I just love your mum - she's a true champion. Thanks for the photo - I lifted it (hope you don't mind). Your mom was going to send me one but couldn't quite work out the tech side of things (yet).

So glad her surgery went well.

Glad to hear she's doing well ... I know it's difficult when you can't be there yourself. Sounds like she's in good hands.

Continuing to pray ...

I love that photo of the three of us, even though my hair color was just wrong. LOL

I plan to call Mom at some point today. She handles things like this better than most, but still, she's been through an ordeal. It's such a blessing that she's fine, with pretty much just the normal afteraffects you'd expect from surgery.

Mostly, I'm so glad she's not going to have the knee and leg pain any more. And I'm very, very glad her doctor has been kind to her. xoxo

Oh such good news! Going over to praise with her right now.

So glad all went well! Yuck- the nausea from the pain meds are among the worst parts of surgery, so hopefully by today she is over that and feeling more normal.

How sweet that she had a friend (and her son) to stay with her through the day, it can be hard when life happens and your family isn't all local. We were so blessed by the friends from my parents church who kept them company throughout the ordeal of his heart bypass. We call those friends you can count on in times like that, our "chosen family".

Praise God for the good news! I can't imagine how hard it is for you guys to be away from her at this time.

Great news, Bev...your Mom is an absolute star, and we email each other quite frequently. Please give her my love and tell her she will be dancing sooner than I will be at this rate!
I am so thankful it is over and the knee will be good from now.

Hi there, Bev,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your sweet comment.

I'm glad to hear your mom is well. My mother in law had total knee replacement surgery at 70 and did surprisingly well. Praying your technologically advanced mom continues to recover well and improve quickly!
