28 on the 28th

She's 28 today, May 28, and we're not doing anything big to celebrate, just keeping up with family tradition. (Did I say family tradition?! By jove, I did - we do have a tradition or two around here after all!). The birthday person gets to choose their dinner menu, and I make it.

So it's Chili burros, a family favorite from 28 years ago North Dakota days (which is where she was born), with Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake for dessert. Lucky for all the rest of us that's what she asked for - sounds fantastic.

And a very special birthday present that cannot be revealed til later, but she's going to love it! Something special for her 'new' house that will bring hours and hours of enjoyment.

So Happy Birthday sweet Leslie. Everybody who knows you loves you, and with good reason. You are one beautiful young woman, inside and out!

She really is, beautiful inside and out. And now that her birthday celebration is over, I can tell you, I think the porch swing you and Don gave her last night was perfect. She'll think of you both every time she sits in that swing.

Happy Birthday to my beautiful niece.

PS - Not to worry, Sarah. Beautiful women obviously run in your family. xoxo

Thank you, thank you, thank all of you! For goodness sakes, I guess I won't be dreading birthdays in the future! They seem to be a huge self-esteem booster! Y'all are very sweet, and thank, Mama for the sweet post (and that gorgeous porch swing)! :)
