New Digs!

This is what my office looked like before Craigs List ads came out:

We sold the desk out from under me! And my laptop monitor (which is just the lid) shot craps, so bless Jeremy and Leslie's heart - they had an extra monitor and bless the heart of the guy at Best Buy who suggested to me plugging in a monitor. I would not have thought of it, but sure enough it works great and I'm back in business. Good thing right now. The BB guy told me the repair cost is more than a new computer, but if I can even put that off a few weeks til we're moved and settled that would be much better. It also gives me time to get stuff off this computer, photos and finances and favorites. Right now we need all the help we can get, so we're grateful to both.

We bought that desk from the basement of an office closing, 12 years ago, for not much. It ended up going to a single mom who runs a business out of her basement, and she took the drafting table and wagner paint sprayer too. Love it when that happens -one person pulls up and they drive away with multiple items.

But I needed a desk, so I went scrounging through the house. Sure enough, I found this little table in the basement. The fish aquarium used to set on it, and lately nothing. I'd considered selling it, but realized it'll do as a desk for the next nine months.

Notice the nice, big drawer that will hold all my office supplies :-) See - works great! Simple and minimalized til next spring! My job today is to deal with the overflow of my old desk, pitch or pack it all. We all have a bit of a packrat in us, whether it's old electrical / computer cords or pencils or note pads. So we're whipping ourselves in shape as we go. No packrats allowed in Texas, no siree!

I'd invite you sit and chat a bit, but...

We're just a bit of a mess right now.

And bless your heart, whoever you are, that picked this up from the side of our curb. We shut the front door and turned off the lights so you could slide in and grab it. We're glad, glad to get rid of it. Hope you were as happy to haul it home.

I would have loved you even more, if you'd grabbed those two overstuffed chairs too.

I love people who take things from the curb! My uncle used to do this - he outfitted part of his house at the shore with "curb" stuff.

Someone took a bird feeder we had put out a week or so ago. I'll have to check the neighbors' yards to see if I can find it.

I too like your desk. And the fact that you blessed others. And reading your bloggy blesses me. xxxooo
