Lakehouse in Spring

Dan photographed these trees in bloom when he was at the lakehouse last weekend. Sarah tells me they're possibly Eastern Redbud. Thank you God for tastes of Spring.

Here in Pittsburgh, there's not a leaf on a tree, not a daffodil up, certainly nothing bloomin'! So we're headed to Texas, spending some time with kids and grandkids, celebrating a bunch of birthdays, meeting goats and chickens and a funny used cat, eating 'marble slabbage' as Pace calls it, sleeping in, going to church together, grilling out, taking early evening walks around the neighborhood, flipping pancakes and hamburgers - all really big stuff.

I can't wait to get down there, live in 80 degrees for a few days, and spend time with all those people we love and haven't seen since Thanksgiving.

Our daffodils are just starting to poke their heads up, so maybe by the time we get back Spring will decide to make an appearance. See you in a week or so.

P.S. to Barb - Happy One month of healthy (and V.E.R.Y. clean!) living tomorrow night, 7:30 pm I do believe- way to go!

My brother, the pastor, calls it "The Tile Store," as in, "I'm going to the tile store, be back after while." Give Sarah a big hug for me!

If I were you, I think I'd be so excited that I could barely stand myself. I hope you have the best time just enjoying those little ones, the weather, and the rest of the fam.

And don't forget the hair pix. Gotta see the hair.

But who's counting, right? :-) Thank you. Yep - tomorrow night at exactly 7:30 it's been one month since I threw my cigarettes in the trash. And a month later, I'm still cleaning the house to get rid of the smoke residue, but I'm finally winning the battle - a couple more days and I'm done.

Your trip to Texas to stay in your new home and visit your kids sounds like my favorite kind of trip - easy, relaxed and just surrounded by all the people you love most in the world. You've worked so hard to get the PA house ready to list, you deserve this little vacation. xoxoxo

It's fun to think of your spending a few days in our "neck of the woods" Bev.
I love those amazing trees. They are the first real sign of spring every year for me.
Enjoy your time here in the best place on earth!

I should get down to Corpus Christi to visit my brother, sis-in-law and nephew... And warm weather. Like you, nothing blooming here yet but the evergreens do help keep things pretty. Have a great time! Hugs!

I hope your Texas visit has been warmer than our part of Texas these past few days. We only thought spring had arrived. Brrr!
