Perks of a Staged House

Great staging includes fresh flowers on the kitchen counter for every showing. I can live with that! We started with roses, but they'd shouted out their last hurrah. With two showings this weekend, we went with these. Baby's breath, daisies and I don't know what. Maybe some type of iris? (Diane, help me here).

Soon we should be able to pick, rather than purchase, flowers. The lilac bushes in the backyard are beginning to leaf out. Imagining how fabulous the house is going to smell with a few of their branches sitting here makes me want to go out and talk to them a bit - 'come on, hurry up already'. Then there will be the peonies, and roses, and coneflower and huge vases of black eyed susans.

This perk I can absolutely live with.

Oh, I'm with you on that one.

And can I just say that of all the flowers in the northern realm, I miss lilacs the very most. We used to have 2 huge bushes in our back yard. I'd send fresh boquets of lilacs with the kids to school for their teachers every 3 days for a few weeks. They loved it.

Enjoy bringing your spring indoors!!

And I'm loving that triple vase display. So unique.

Really neat arrangement! I think your mystery flowers are alstromeria - I don't know of a less "formal" name ;)

My first thought on the mystery flower was alstromeria also. It's a beautiful arrangement. My lilacs are just starting to leaf and I'm quite impatient about it. They are my favorite flower and I can't wait to see them this year :)

They're right, Mom--it's alstromeria, and our Sam's here sells big bunches for cheap, and they last for weeks! Perfect :) (I'm so excited that I even know what flower that is--I never know!!)

Good luck today!!

Those flowers are very sweet and I really love the container but I agree, nothing smells as nice as lilacs in the house. Living in a staged house is a big pain, so I'm glad you're adding some touches that you can enjoy yourself.

I really, really like that flower container.

Beautiful. Nothing says happy like a bunch of daisies. I had alstromeria in my bridesmaids' bouquets. Thanks for the memory. Good luck with the house, and hope your Saturday is sweet.

I love flowers, whether cut and indoors or growing on the stalks.

The other flower you asked about in your bouquet is alstroemeria. You can Google it to compare if you'd like. It's become a common cut flower just in the last 10 years or so. Well, in my rural part of the world anyway. ;o)

Enjoy your weekend, Bev. Hope you have a blessed service at church tonight and a lovely Sunday, my friend. :o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

A vase of fresh flowers is like the smile on a clean room.

Fresh flowers always brighten up my day! I love picking up an inexpensive bunch at the grocery store and bringing them home to my fun vases. You just can't help but smile when you have fresh flowers around!
