Not Much To Look At

It's the one thing that didn't make it to Texas. The one thing I'd mentioned to the driver in Pennsylvania, that it was important to me that it arrived safe and sound. He'd assured me it would be fine with the lumber from our garage. When I realized it hadn't shown up at our new home, and asked about it, it was hard to talk over the big lump in my throat.

I told the driver, "it's not much to look at, it would probably just look like a board to anyone else, but it's irreplacable. I can't tell you how much it means to me. So you have to find it."

He made a phone call, and sure enough, some 'boards' had been left behind.

They brought it to me yesterday, here in Pennsylvania.


Seeing it standing there in our little garage, it really doesn't look like much, but it meant the world to me to have it back safe and sound.


I believe we'll move it ourselves when we make the final drive down to Texas. I'm not even sure where it's going to go, but we have more additions to make to it, kids growing, kids arriving, and I'm so thankful to have it back.

Thank you, God, for caring about even the little things in our lives. For watching over my little board while it was lost in the shuffle. I'm going to try to remember that, the next time I feel a bit lost myself!

P.S. Of course we put our pets on the growth chart, doesn't everybody?
